In September 2010, Set & Drift curated and hosted Current at The Bakery in Barrio Logan, coinciding with the ART SAN DIEGO Contemporary Art Fair.
An exhibition of hand-crafted design, the show featured the West Coast debut of internationally acclaimed Seoul-based designer Kwangho Lee, along with Mercantile, a pop up shop showcasing design objects by 9 American designers and artists, including studios from Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
The furniture workshop of The Bakery underwent a temporary transformation to host Black Whale, a sculptural lighting installation knitted with power cords by Korean designer Kwangho Lee. Accompanying music in the gallery space was provided by Joshua and Jeremiah Zimmerman of The Silent Comedy.
The front studio was reimagined as Mercantile, a pop-up shop showcasing a collection of limited edition hand-crafted objects by 9 American designers and artists; including furniture pieces, prints, and hand-stitched textiles. Works by: Miki Iwasaki, Josh Higgins, Neko, Gabriel Salcedo, Casey Lurie, and Philipp Bosshart, with custom denim by Luxury Death Machine, and jewelry by Cloven Hoof.
